The children have tested materials to find out which would be the best for Sunny Bear to wear on a rainy day. Threading in Finger Gym is helping with pencil grips in Handwriting.

We have finished our WW2 stories, completed our double page spread and spend time in the school garden finding objects that make us appreciate the awe and wonder of God's creations.

We have enjoyed working indoors and outdoors this week in reception.

We have had a lovely week in Year Four. In Science, we have been investigating how distance impacts on volume. In Design and Technology, we have been creating pop-up books and in History we have been hot seating as Boudicca!

This week we have experimented with different percussion instruments in music. We have started writing a letter back to the crayons from Duncan in English. We learnt about the message from Pope Francis in Laudato Si' and performed a new song about it, then we wrote pledges on how we can look after our world.

It's been a very busy two weeks in pre-school. We have been exploring outside, building fires, making yummy pumpkin soup and developing our gross motor skills. We also created an areoplane, the children said we were going to Austrailia!

We have been busy this week ordering pumpkins by size and thinking about 'World Mental Health day'. We have been thinking about how to keep our brains healthy and also thinking about the different parts of the body. Our story this week was 'Funnybones'. We have also sorted buttons in maths.

We began the week with a wonderful Harvest Celebration from GIFT team. We continued with lots of fabulous RE work. The children have given presentations, written letters to their local MP about caring for our common home and created their own canticle. We have continued to study Henry Moore in art and finished the week with Mental Health Day. We have been researching how to stay safe online and thinking of others.

We wrote an account of the Viking raids on Lindisfarne from the point of view of a monk.

This week we had a special music lesson with Mrs Lord and a visit from our class governor Mrs Grindy-Bell. We made lanterns to show we are carrying the light of Jesus and created actions to our hymn 'Children of the Light.' In maths we have been ordering and comparing numbers.

We read 'Paper Dolls' by Julia Donaldson and used this to inspire our own writing. I can not wait to read what the Year 1 dolls ahve been up to. Look at the happy faces of the children.

This week in RE we were acting out Matthew 8:5-13 Jesus Heals the Sick.

The reception children took part in a reflective pray time and listened to the scripture about 'Our Lady Mary' They sat and listened beautifully.

A busy week in reception. Lots of time spent outside. We have read the story 'Harry and the Dinosaurs goes to school'. We have been thinking about Number 1 and what we have one of.

This week has whizzed by. We have started our Evacuee Narrative. We are half way through 'Letters From The Lighthouse'. We have enjoyed learning about the 'Art of Blood' in science. We began the Month of Mary with a beautiful Celebration with our parishioners, praying the rosary with out buddies and enjoyed soup for Family Fast Day.

We have been acting out the Sacrament of Baptism and enjoyed lovely reflections and prayers about Mary, before praying the Rosary in our school garden. We have enjoyed writing letters from Samson when he arrived in New York after his journey on the Titanic.

This week, we have enjoyed a lovely walk in the school garden, exploring Gods wonderful world and observing what he created. We have spent lots of time outdoors, creating various structures, making music with pots and watering the plants. We discussed how we are all different, special and unique and coloured in 'our hands' using the colours of our skin tone. Lastly, we recited the story of "The Rainbow Fish", we created our own beautfiul rainbow fish and talked about the impo
