Welcome to Year 2 Class

Welcome to our Year 2 class page. Mrs Whittle will be in class on Monday and Tuesday each week and Mrs Cheap on Wednesday – Friday. We will also have Mrs Turner helping us each day.

Each term we will update the page with our new topic and an overview of the term, you will find this in the homework and curriculum sections.

We will also post any news updates and photos to share what we are doing in class.

Each week the children will bring home spellings on Friday. The hand in date for this homework will be the following Friday when the children will also be tested. Please ensure that your child reads daily if possible as this will greatly support all learning in class.

News

Year 2:Autumn 1 -week 1

We have had a great first full week in Year 2. In science we sorted materials and in Maths we have been making two digit numbers in different ways.

Year 2 Team Captains.

Congratulations to our colour team captains for this year. The children were chosen by their peers in a secret 'heads down - hands up' vote last week. Well done to all the children for being so sensible and to the chosen captains.

Year 2: Meet the Teacher Information

Year 2:Summer 2-week 7

In the last week of the year we enjoyed sports day and we wrote and performed our own sea shanties. We spent time with our class governor and had a water safety talk to help keep us safe during the holidays when we are near water.

Year 2: Summer 2 - Week 6

This week we carried out an investigation in science to find out 'Are all children the same height in different year groups?' We had a great time at 'Song Share' singing with lots of different schools and on our own on stage.

Year 2: Summer 2 - Week 5

This week we have been doing active maths to help us to tell the time and we started to learn about another faith - Judaism. We had a great day out at Formby Beach, we ate our healthy snack that we made, had lots of fun and lots of learning too. Thank you to all the adults who came to help and the children for their excellent behaviour.
