News


Year 2: Spring 2-Week 2
This week we enjoyed World Book Day, especially the story of Perfectly Norman. We had two more Mystery Readers this week which was wonderful. We have been learning about 'groups of' in Maths and also put our sewing squares together to make a Kantha Quilt.


Year 2: Spring 2 - Week 1
A very busy first week back. In science we carried out an investigation to find out if woodlice preferred damp or dry conditions. We read the scripture of the paralyzed man in R.E. and set up shopping activities in Maths. We have really enjoyed reading, solving and writing riddles in English and had another exciting Mystery Reader. We also enjoyed the silent disco on Monday.


Year 2: Spring 1 - Week 6
What a busy week! On Monday we celebrated Diversity Day and learned about China, Nigeria and Iceland, we are proud of our Northern Lights artwork. We showed real perseverance in D.T. using a running stitch to sew our Bangladesh motif design onto material. We have also enjoyed a story with another mystery reader and tasted some Indian food too, thanks to Mrs Joshy. Have a lovely well deserved half term everyone - you have all worked very hard this term.


Year 2: Spring 1 - Week 5
We went on a minibeast hunt in science to complete a survey about minibeasts and microhabitats in our school garden. We used the internet to research different planets in computing and enjoyed two Mystery Readers this week.


Year 2: Spring 1 - Week 4
We have made a wormery in science, looked at 3D shapes in Maths and made a cube from a net. We enjoyed using the glockenspiels in music and performing our dance in expressive arts. We used a website to research planets in computing and enjoyed another mystery reader in class.


Year 2: Spring 1 - Week 3
We had a great lesson on the computers and new laptops and also used the i-pads for research about Bangladesh. We have been learning about symmetry in shapes in Maths and microhabitats in science, where we sorted and grouped animals using a classification key. We also welcomed our first Mystery Reader which was very exciting!
