A very warm welcome on behalf of our children, staff and Governors!

It is my privilege to be headteacher here at Saint Marie’s.

We are a small, ‘Outstanding’, Catholic school with a big heart, firmly

established within the Standish community.

Each day I am impressed by our fantastic children and their enthusiasm and joy for learning, and also by our experienced, highly skilled staff team, who show their commitment and love for what they do. Visitors comment on our children’s excellent behaviour and care for each other, and our warm, family feel.

Here at Saint Marie’s Jesus is at the centre of everything we do as we learn through faith, love and respect. Every day we model, nurture and celebrate the Gospel Values of being kind, faithful, honest, welcoming, trustworthy, loving and a team!

Our curriculum is ambitious for all children – Expressive Arts is timetabled weekly for every class, we make use of our beautiful outside spaces for learning, we are committed to mental health and well being and have been awarded recently with the Platinum Sports Award. Children thrive at Saint Marie’s through our nurturing of individual talents and our high expectations both academically and in every area of school life and personal development.

Please get in contact if you would like to arrange a personal tour around our wonderful school. We welcome families of all faiths.

We look forward to meeting you.

Newsletter - Autumn Term II Week 1

7 November 2025

This week’s Gospel is from the Gospel of Matthew

God of wisdom, help us as we try to follow the right path. May we share your peace and love with others and work together with them to make the world a fairer place for all to live. Amen.

Anti-Bullying Week

Next week, in PSHE lessons and assemblies we will focus on anti – bullying and learn more about this. On Friday, children are invited to wear odd socks with their uniform. We wear odd socks to celebrate individuality and the fact that everyone is different and unique. By wearing mismatched socks, we make a visible statement that it's okay to be different and that these differences should be celebrated, not judged or bullied.
