St. Marie's Catholic Primary School

A very warm welcome on behalf of our children, staff and Governors!

It is my privilege to be headteacher here at Saint Marie’s.

We are a small, ‘Outstanding’, Catholic school with a big heart, firmly
established within the Standish community.

Each day I am impressed by our fantastic children and their enthusiasm and joy for learning, and also by our experienced, highly skilled staff team, who show their commitment and love for what they do. Visitors comment on our children’s excellent behaviour and care for each other, and our warm, family feel.

Here at Saint Marie’s Jesus is at the centre of everything we do as we learn through faith, love and respect. Every day we model, nurture and celebrate the Gospel Values of being kind, faithful, honest, welcoming, trustworthy, loving and a team!

Our curriculum is ambitious for all children – Expressive Arts is timetabled weekly for every class, we make use of our beautiful outside spaces for learning, we are committed to mental health and well being and have been awarded recently with the Platinum Sports Award. Children thrive at Saint Marie’s through our nurturing of individual talents and our high expectations both academically and in every area of school life and personal development.
Please get in contact if you would like to arrange a personal tour around our wonderful school. We welcome families of all faiths.

We look forward to meeting you.

This week’s Gospel is from the Gospel of Luke
Generous God, you created the world with enough food for all people, but we have not shared fairly. Help us to play our part in building a better world, where all have enough to eat, just as you intended. Amen.
Lunch Boxes
Parents/Carers - could you please ensure that food inside the children’s lunch boxes is cut up appropriately. Please see the link to the information below from the Food Standards Agency.
Also, a reminder that Tuesday is ‘Treat Tuesday’ when children are allowed to bring a treat, for example crisps, biscuit, chocolate in their lunch box.
On all other days we encourage a healthy lunch box.
Thank you for supporting us in educating your children about healthy eating.

This week’s Gospel is from the Gospel of Luke
Jesus says that we can’t serve both God and money in our lives. God must come first. Then other people. Then money and the things that we own last. He also says that we should be generous with the money that we do have and use it to look after others.

On Friday the 26th September, we will host a Macmillan Coffee Morning. At 9am there will be the Parent Forum in the Community Room as per last week’s newsletter. The Macmillan Coffee morning will be at 9.30am in the school hall.
