School Houses

 

We use a house point system to reward children.  We have high expectations of our children to show love and respect in all areas of school. We think about putting Christ at the centre of everything we do. The children are inspired to achieve by those who also did this. We have 4 houses each named after a saint who special within our diocese, click on the picture to find out more about each Saint:

• Children are allocated houses when they start in Reception and remain in this house throughout their time at St. Marie’s.

• Children’s points are counted weekly by our Y6 Monitors and added to the accumulative points for each house.  

• The top house is announced in our celebration assemblies and recorded on the hall display with a token in their box.

• Every half term the house with the most points receives a treat/ prize. Past treats have included extra playtimes and sweet treats. 

• In addition to using house points to motivate and reward children, we use the house system for sports days, and other activities within school.
