Welcome to Year 5!

Hello and welcome to Y5! Mr Farley is Y5 class teacher and we are supported by Mrs Santos.

Please keep an eye on our class page for updates on our learning in class as well as our half-termly parent information sheets. I am so looking forward to the year of learning ahead. Please see below for some useful information.

Each day

Children should bring a clean water bottle to school each day, along with their homework diaries and reading books. Diaries will be checked daily and signed by a member of staff to check reading progress and for any communications from home. We encourage the children to read as much as possible at home; please sign diaries to confirm your child has read, adding a comment if necessary.

P.E.

Y5 will have a P.E session led by Wigan Athletic each Thursday. Children should come to school in their P.E kits.

Homework and Spelling

New spellings will be given out each Friday, ready for a spelling test the following Friday. Children will have a week to complete their look, cover, write, check columns as well as a spelling activity sheet. A times table sheet will also be sent out each Friday. Children should complete their spelling and times table sheets and return to the homework tray in class before Friday.
