What a lovely final week of 2025 in Year 1! The children started off their week with "Tea with Santa"- everyone had a lovely time! We enjoyed doing our Artwork based on the Artist Yayoi Kusama and have enjoyed making our Christmas cards and crafts in class.

Year 1 have had such a lovely Christmassy Week! We performed our Nativity for a families and friends, took part in our CAFOD santa dash, had surprise visits from computer explorers and Freddie the Funbox Frog and also made Hot Chocolate as part of our instruction writing.

The children enjoyed meeting Ray, a published poet. He read some of his poems and got us in the festive spirit.

A recipe for a good friend. Year 1 made leaf rubbings in the garden. This was one of their Art skills.

In Year 1, we discussed what bullying is and is not. We thought how we could use our own powers for good - to stand up for ourselves and others.

Maths day was magical. We spent Friday afternoon building dens for animals to hibernate in. We toasted marshmallows on the fire-pit.

Year 1 enjoying their morning break at the new snack tables. For 'Black History Day' in school, the children heard about the life and achievements of Rosa Parks. They created freeze frames of scenes from her life and learnt the actions and words to a song inspired by her - She Sat on the Bus.

We took Maths outside to practise counting forwards and backwards. The Daily Mile leaders have set great examples. We love walking around...
