This week, we enjoyed sharing our Antarctica Research and matching the Physical features of Antarctica to their definitions.

What a wonderful week we have had in pre-school! This week, we have celebrated Remembrance day. We created beautiful poppies and watched a special video explaining why we wear them. The children recited "To remember the soldiers." We have celebrated nursery rhyme week, exploring the rhymes through continuous provision. Robot group have been for a 'listening walk' around school, we heard lots of sounds. Our favourite was the piano and the xylophone! We have enjoyed making Gruf

We enjoyed combining our P.E. and maths skills. We used our running skills to sprint between hoops and our maths and teamwork skills to construct and solve sums, using all four operations.

A great start to the second half of the Autumn Term.

Maths day was magical. We spent Friday afternoon building dens for animals to hibernate in. We toasted marshmallows on the fire-pit.

We have had a fabulously busy week. We began with Maths Day. We took part in a variety of maths activities and had a great time. We also introduced our new topic and all created presentation about the Ocean. The big apparatus was out in PE.

Number day, lots of Maths activities and P.E. with Wigan Athletic.

It has been a lovely first week back at pre-school. We have celebrated number day and took part in an Autumn walk around the school grounds. The children collected lots of twigs and leaves and we discussed what happens in Autumn. We can't wait to make our giant Autumn collage next week!

We spent an active maths lesson revising our work on factors and multiples. We retrieved factors of a given number, combined numbers to make multiples and experimented with organising numbers within venn diagrams.

The first day back was a magical day filled with Maths. The children loved the Taskmaster challenges and the costumes and outfits were wonderful. Who loved it more-the children or the staff?

A busy end to the reception classes first half term in school.

For our Design and Technology work this half term, Y5 have been researching, designing and building their own cam mechanisms to create a Viking-themed toy. Well done, Y5, on some fantastic projects. It was great to see real perseverance, resilience, team work and problem solving skills. Well done!

The children loved making 'Journey Sticks' as part of their Mapping Week work. The pupils made a plan map of the classroom and their imaginary town.

The children have demonstrated lovely play skills this week. They have taken on characters during their role play and worked as a team to build various models. To end our topic 'all about me', the children have created their very own self portraits, the children looked in the mirror and discussed what they could see on their faces.
