Pre-school- Spring term 11- Week 1 & 2
It's been a very busy two weeks back in Pre-school! We have started our new topic 'Spring has Sprung' and have enjoyed taking part in an observational Daffodil painting. Astronauts have chosen their favourite nursery rhymes and have drawn a picture of what they chose. We are currently creating a fruit and vegetable shop in our role play area. The children created a shopping list of what they will buy when it opens.

Year 1- Spring 2- Week 1
A great first week back! Year 1 have loved learning about another famous woman in history, Mary Anning, the fossil finder. We enjoyed making a visual timetable and have developed our knowledge of the timescale of when Dinosaurs lived on Earth. We have done some lovely handwriting and have enjoyed exploring our new provision areas. Today we had a mass to mark the beginning of Lent and received our ashes.

Year 2: Spring 2 - Week 1
A very busy first week back. In science we carried out an investigation to find out if woodlice preferred damp or dry conditions. We read the scripture of the paralyzed man in R.E. and set up shopping activities in Maths. We have really enjoyed reading, solving and writing riddles in English and had another exciting Mystery Reader. We also enjoyed the silent disco on Monday.

Y5's Visit to the Liverpool World Museum
Y5 had a wonderful time at the Liverpool World Museum. We visited the permanent ancient Egypt exhibition where we saw: mummies, 'shabti' statues and other amazing artefacts from ancient Egypt. In our mummification workshop, we all took part in 'mummifying' a body and learned about the reasons behind many of the rituals of mummification. We also had chance to visit the aquarium and space exploration floors!

Year 1- Spring 1- Week 6
A wonderful final week for Year 1 before our half term holiday. Today we explored the large apparatus in Gymnastics and performed some excellent rolling, jumping and balancing movements in our groups. We really enjoyed it. We also finished our final Frida Kahlo style portraits and shared some lovely homework. We have all worked super hard this term and deserve a lovely rest at home with our families. Well done year 1. We also celebrated diversity day on Monday. It was a fan

We showed real perseverance in D.T. using a running stitch to sew our Bangladesh motif design onto material. We have also enjoyed a story with another mystery reader and tasted some Indian food too, thanks to Mrs Joshy. Have a lovely well deserved half term everyone - you have all worked very hard this term.

Y5 Adopt a Rainforest Animal
Well done, Y5, on all your homework from this half term. Y5 have worked hard to produce some very persuasive letters, poster and presentations on which rainforest animal we should adopt and which charity to support. Next half term, we will announce the animal and charity that the class will be adopting!
