St Marie's Catholic Primary School

This week we had a special music lesson with Mrs Lord and a visit from our class governor Mrs Grindy-Bell. We made lanterns to show we are carrying the light of Jesus and created actions to our hymn 'Children of the Light.' In maths we have been ordering and comparing numbers.

We have been acting out the Sacrament of Baptism and enjoyed lovely reflections and prayers about Mary, before praying the Rosary in our school garden. We have enjoyed writing letters from Samson when he arrived in New York after his journey on the Titanic.

This week we have enjoyed P.E. with Mr Edwards. We have thought about being stewards of God's world and what would happen if we didn't care for our environment. We wrote prayers to show we understand stewardship.

This week we have been sorting first class and third class features of The Titanic. We have been partitioning tens and ones in Maths and we went on a walk around the school grounds to look at God's gifts.

We have had a great first full week in Year 2. In science we sorted materials and in Maths we have been making two digit numbers in different ways.

Congratulations to our colour team captains for this year. The children were chosen by their peers in a secret 'heads down - hands up' vote last week. Well done to all the children for being so sensible and to the chosen captains.
