World Book Day in Year 4 based on Perfectly Norman who grew wings.

Thank you to all the Year 4 Parents and grandparents who have supported us in class as Mystery Readers. We have loved welcoming you into our classroom and it has showed us all the importance of reading for pleasure.

In R.E. we have started our new topic Desert to Garden. We have read and discussed the story of The Prodigal Son, creating freeze frames to represent different scenes.

We had a great time learning about different countries and their cultures on Diversity Day. In our own class, we focussed on Nigeria, learning about its landscape, wildlife, languages, currency, national food and popular sports. We even learnt a Nigerian song and dance!

We are thoroughly enjoying using our music skills to learn to play the African drums.

In Science, we worked scientifically to test the properties of liquids.

We loved combining P.E. with maths. We used our running skills to sprint between hoops with printed numbers and operations in them. We then used teamwork skills and maths skills to construct and solve sums, using all four operations.

This week, we visited Standish Library. We loved listening to a story about a girl and a fox in the comfort of a ready made den. We then predicted the next part of the story.
