St Marie's Catholic Primary School

This week, we have enjoyed exploring continuous provision, going on a bear hunt and decorating the Christmas tree whilst dancing to Christmas music. We have also created beautiful handprints of Mary and the Angel Gabriel.

The children have loved creating their very own Gruffalo to display above our bear cave. We have recited the story "We're going on a bear hunt." and have created wonderful pieces of writing all about our favourite part. The children also enjoyed taking part in cosmic kids yoga- bear hunt.

What a wonderful week we have had in pre-school! This week, we have celebrated Remembrance day. We created beautiful poppies and watched a special video explaining why we wear them. The children recited "To remember the soldiers." We have celebrated nursery rhyme week, exploring the rhymes through continuous provision. Robot group have been for a 'listening walk' around school, we heard lots of sounds. Our favourite was the piano and the xylophone! We have enjoyed making Gruf

It has been a lovely first week back at pre-school. We have celebrated number day and took part in an Autumn walk around the school grounds. The children collected lots of twigs and leaves and we discussed what happens in Autumn. We can't wait to make our giant Autumn collage next week!

The children have demonstrated lovely play skills this week. They have taken on characters during their role play and worked as a team to build various models. To end our topic 'all about me', the children have created their very own self portraits, the children looked in the mirror and discussed what they could see on their faces. This week, we have been discussing 'what makes a kind friend'. The children have given some beautiful answers..."I have kind hands" "I love to snuggle my friends." "Sharing is caring." The children have also created an Autumn collage, made scrumptious playdough cookies and shared how special our families are to us during a special circle time.
