Prayer for the new Year
Dear Lord,
As we begin our new school year, let us remember that You are always ready to offer us a new
beginning whenever we ask You.
Please help us to use our new beginning to the best of our ability and to remember that You are the
centre of our school.
Welcome
Thank you for bringing the children back to school looking so smart. It was wonderful to see
them return on Tuesday. Nerves soon faded and there were lots of smiles and laughter as the
children met back up with their friends and teachers.
This week we have welcomed some new children and new staff to our school family.
Week 7 Summer 2023/24
10 June 2024
First Holy Commuinion
A beautiful Year 4 First Holy Communion on Saturday 8th June.
We send our congratulations and prayers to all the children from Year 4 who have received the Sacrament for the first time. Sincere thanks to those who have prepared the children so well and to the parents and children themselves.
A heartfelt thank you to the children who sang beautifully in the choir, the staff who helped on the day, Father Joseph for making us all feel very welcome and helping the children understand the importance of the Mass and continuing their faith journey together.
Fundraising
Thank you for your donations for MND Motor Neurone Disease Association in memorial for Rob Burrow and the inspiration to us all that he was.
Thank you for supporting by for wearing Red and white to raise funds for the ongoing important research into MND. Rugby is very important to a lot of families in Wigan and a fantastic celebration of local talent.
Week 4 Summer 2023/24

COLLECTIVE WORSHIP THEME for next week is “CARE”
Week 7 Easter Season John’s Gospel Key Scripture
“Holy Father protect the people you have given to me”
“Since I have been with them, I have taken CARE of them”
The Gospel this week helps us to understand that there will be difficult times in our lives which we must deal with- just like the Disciples had to deal with Jesus’ death and continuing His mission to spread the Good News that God’s love is for everyone.
5 Ways to Wellbeing
The Y5 Wellbeing Warriors and their Y6 friends are planning a ‘St Marie’s Come Dancing’ competition. More information to follow but start to think about a song and solos or group entry.
Get Thinking. Get Dancing.
