A very warm welcome on behalf of our children, staff and Governors!

It is my privilege to be headteacher here at Saint Marie’s.

We are a small, ‘Outstanding’, Catholic school with a big heart, firmly

established within the Standish community.

Each day I am impressed by our fantastic children and their enthusiasm and joy for learning, and also by our experienced, highly skilled staff team, who show their commitment and love for what they do. Visitors comment on our children’s excellent behaviour and care for each other, and our warm, family feel.

Here at Saint Marie’s Jesus is at the centre of everything we do as we learn through faith, love and respect. Every day we model, nurture and celebrate the Gospel Values of being kind, faithful, honest, welcoming, trustworthy, loving and a team!

Our curriculum is ambitious for all children – Expressive Arts is timetabled weekly for every class, we make use of our beautiful outside spaces for learning, we are committed to mental health and well being and have been awarded recently with the Platinum Sports Award. Children thrive at Saint Marie’s through our nurturing of individual talents and our high expectations both academically and in every area of school life and personal development.

Please get in contact if you would like to arrange a personal tour around our wonderful school. We welcome families of all faiths.

We look forward to meeting you.

Third Week of Advent

In the third week of Advent, we listen to Jesus say that he came to heal people who are sick and
bring good news to people who are poor. We think about how we can be that good news and
help to build a better world for all people.

CAFOD World Gifts

Wednesday’s Sant Dash for CAFOD was a tremendous success! We raised £769.00 for CAFOD! Next week I will meet with the children’s leadership team to decide what they would like our school to buy from ‘World Gifts’. Thank you to our families for your kindness in supporting our global
neighbours around the world who have very little and are in desperate need.

Christ the King

O King of Kings, you died so that we might have new life. Help us to share your love with each
other and to be there for each other in the most difficult times. Amen.

CAFOD World Gifts

This year, on Christmas dinner day when the children are dressed in their Christmas jumpers, we will have a whole school Santa Dash around the school field. We are asking families to sponsor the children. We aim for 9 laps to represent Santa’s nine reindeer! There will be festive music and
obstacles and fun along the way! If you would like to sponsor your child please look out for the information on Parent Pay next week.
